About Jay Premack

Trust. It’s the springboard from which all timeless, beautiful images are created.

Jay is an unobtrusive documentarian, who insists that the best pictures happen when events unfold naturally. As an individual, Jay is pretty laid back, a demeanor that’s ideal for weddings. Amidst orchestrated chaos, he’s a calming presence. Jay makes it easy to let your guard down, forget there’s a camera, and reveal what’s honest: a subtle gesture, a quiet glance, the palpable anticipation in the final seconds before a ceremony.

Jay first immersed himself in the craft of photojournalism at a very young age. After having his first picture published in the Boston Herald when he was 12, he was hooked. For nearly two decades, Jay has honed his skills as a photographer at many notable newspapers and a major-market television station. His early credits include The Boston Globe, The Denver Post, and KSTP-TV, among others. Jay’s work has been featured in publications throughout the country and around the world.

In addition to his experience as a photographer, Jay is a skilled photo editor. He spent five years reviewing and editing literally millions of images for AOL, The Washington Times, and The Washington Post, where he was hired as one of their youngest photo editors ever. Not only did this editing experience add to the breadth of his photographic knowledge, it also allows him to view photography from a different perspective.
