Washington DC Christening, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church

September 20, 2009 | Posted in Event

A few weeks back my friend and amazing event planner Aimee Dominick surprised me and asked if I would photograph her daughter Evvie’s christening.  Following Sunday Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Aimee, her husband Al, family members and close friends gathered together for a most intimate event.  I was moved as I witnessed Aimee and Al take turns holding Evvie as a prayer was offered to each of them.  They both closed their eyes and there was this overwhelming feeling of love that permeated.  It is beautiful to see the amount of love that parents shower their children with.  It’s the real deal and to have been invited to document something so intimate was an honor.  Following the christening, they walked over to Brasserie Beck for a luncheon and had a beautiful cake by Kristine Bender of K. Rose Cake Design.

Ritz Carlton Hotel Event, The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt

June 23, 2009 | Posted in Event

Today I covered an event for The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt), the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at the Ritz Carlton which featured Dr. Tarek Kamel, Egyptian Minister of Communications & Information Technology; Aneesh Chopra, U.S. Chief Technology Officer, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; and a number of other notables.  Here are a few of my favorites from the event.  The first is of Aneesh Chopra shortly after the end of the event as he is about to be interviewed and the second is of Dr. Kamel who was having a great time talking with a group of people.
