Arunima and Ramon are going to be amazing parents! I met them at their home in Mount Pleasant where we spent some time and then headed to Meridian Hill Park which is a special place for them. They’re going to be parents of a beautiful baby girl in just about a month.

Perched upon a beautiful river overlook, surrounded by friends and family, Lindsay and Trey enjoyed an intimate wedding ceremony. They both absolutely love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and spending time with their wonderful dogs. Shenandoah River State Park was the perfect place for these kindred spirits to get married.

DC Engagement Session at The Yards Park, Julie + Jon

I’ve had a chance to photograph engagement sessions with couples all over the city. But every once in a while it’s fun to stumble upon a hidden gem. Julie and Jon have an affinity for Capitol Hill and really wanted to visit the Navy Yard. So off we went on a little adventure.

We headed down to a waterfront development near the National’s stadium tucked behind the U.S. Department of Transportation called The Yards Park. It is a work in progress and worth a visit if you’ve never been. It is a lovely riverfront stretch along the Anacostia with a mix of old buildings and some beautiful landscaping.

Julie and Jon are a sweet couple, easygoing and made capturing natural moments with one another really easy. I can’t wait for their wedding this fall.

Rock Creek Park Engagement Session, Ashley + Mike

On Sunday I was fortunate to catch up with Ashley and Mike to spend some with them in Rock Creek Park. They met about a year ago in a yoga class that Mike was teaching and have been together ever since.

They were willing participants, taking off their shoes and venturing into the creek with me, decided on their own to climb a tree and even surprised me with a little dual Upward Bow yoga move which they did effortlessly.

I’m very much looking forward to their wedding this summer. I’m not so sure we’ll be seeing any more back bends then, but you never know.
